- Skim the whole paper
- Read the questions
- Plan the time for the marks ie; 60 minutes for 60 marks = 1 mark/1 minute
- Do the questions you know first, but keep them in order ie leave place for the left out questions.
- One sentence or one point must = one mark. Put each point you make on a new line or make it a new bullet.
- In an essay each sentence is one clear point.
- Check your work for:
- Answered all the questions?
- Grammar and spelling
- If unsure about an answer go with your first feeling.
Comprehension
- Read the questions

- Read the questions again making notes about where in the passage the answer is.
